Two more GranFondos in BC next year.
Not only will the Whistler event be re-run, in September, but there are two more events on the calendar.
The GranFondo Axel Merckx running out of Penticton on the weekend of July 9/10.
And the GranFondo Kelowna ( by the organizers of the Whistler event) on the the weekend of July 16.
Good times are here.

Yeah, but I am put off by the hefty $200 price tag just to go on a crowded ride.

July 10, out of Penticton, the Axel Merckx Gran Fondo
https://www.granfondoaxelmerckx.com/
It will be scenic, and fairly easy. Not a lot of climbing.
A week later, the organizers of the GranFondo Whistler are putting on the GranFondo Kelowna.
https://www.granfondocanada.com/
https://www.cyclecomponentnetwork.com/event/show/1452
It will be much more scenic, and much more challenging with a greater variety of scenery.
Either way - a great summer ahead.
Get out there and register.

The Penticton ride will be very nice, quite a bit right along the shores of Okanagan and Skaha Lakes, and what should be a very pleasant ramble through the vineyards. A lot of rolling terrain, not really big climbing.
The Kelowna event will be wonderful also, heading north out of Kelowna and around the north end of Okanagan Lake and back. Through the pine forests, and along the lake on both sides. It will be beautiful. The gravel section is only about 4 km, it will be fine, run 25 mm tires a bit softer and you'll be good. The people that will get in trouble on that will be the ones running 23's at 140 lbs.
C'mon up. Will be great events.
