stud/tread wear question
 

Hello!

This will be my first year cycling in the snow. I happened to get a set of used Nokian WXC300 as a bonus with some other stuff I wanted. Basically, these cost me nothing.

Thing is, I have no idea what I'm looking at and want to know how much life is left in them. The center studs look worn to me, but what do you all think?

They look fine. Carbide is so hard it doesn't really wear (on asphalt). The studs should outlast the tires.

The middle studs are pushed further into the rubber, but that's not a problem and should still work perfectly.

They still have those little molding whiskers, plenty of life left in them. Not unusual to get 5-10 years out of a pair of studded tires. Try a variety of psi for traction.
