snow storm coming, who's happy about it?

looks like a touch more than a dusting ... :/

I look at it as nature providing.

I ride much less in the winter, and combined with eating a "winter diet" I'd gain weight and lose condition if nature didn't provide workouts in the form of shoveling my walk and driveway.

Some years back it snowed 6" or so every week like clockwork. I was in my best condition ever when I got back on the bike.

lol yeah. I remember cpl yrs ago, at my annual physical was talking to my doc about a recent storm & that I was out for 3 hrs clearing snow including roof raking. I was pretty happy about the workout. he says: "that's good for you?" um yeah. looks like I'll be raking that roof in the middle of it tomorrow night. gotta get my tires mounted tonight. Wifey says no biking this weekend :innocent:

It's between you and the wife, but snow riding can be OK. Just don't go deep into Miles Standish SF without leaving breadcrumbs.

I would like exactly 4" on the bike path. Followed by lots of ice with no snow on it. I'm down in R.I., it looks like I'm not going to get what I want.

If I get the day off work I'll be happy.

I wish we had snow. Everything here has melted for the most part. It is cold today and tomorrow but this weekend up to the 40's!! So the wife and I are going to take the fat bikes to the lake and ride on the ice. Should be fun, I've never been on the ice before.

boss man just decided not to open our office tomorrow. at all

weird cuz for snow storms it's usually me, the GM & the Owner. the GM & I usually have to listen to the Owner complain about how nobody came to work ... & if anyone does show up he waits until it's too dangerous to drive & then sends everyone home ... :roflmao2:

Smart guy. 12' with high wind cam be huge drifts. I guess I have to go get some gas for the generator.

Beach weather day today. Snow day tomorrow. Will be forking from home if its really the 5-8 inches that wunderground.com says it will be. Yeay for telecommuting. Maybe an excuse to take out the sad MTB covered in dust in the basement? It looks a little like this but positive stem rise, black headshock cover, diff wheelset, etc.

Forking?

Ghazmh 02-08-17 02:25 PM

I am bummed but surprisingly not because it will inhibit my riding plans. I currently don't have any riding plans this week as im in San Diego until Sunday. I am however bummed that Mrs Ghazmh will have to deal with Ole Bessie the snowblower alone

question for ya. was watching Ask This Old House. they were talking about snow blowers. reminded everyone to NEVER put their hand in the auger bucket/blades. but then they pointed out where the sheer pin is. right inside the the auger bucket/blades! so isn't sticking your hands in there to change that dangerous? & contradict the 1st safety tip?

I saw your helmet cover and thought you must be the most dedicated food server, ever. ;) Looks like fun!
