First ride after a snowstorm.

I would've gone during the day, during the storm if I didn't have other things to do, but it didn't work out that way. It was a lot of fun to be out there. I was surprised at how planted I felt even though the roads were definitely somewhat slick or icy-ish but there was probably plenty of salt down that it didn't matter.

Fresh snow covered roads are the best.....if you can get out before they have been trampled by cars, its like riding on a cloud!

I will definitely be looking for an opportunity to do that!!!!! I love when it snows. Especially if it's a snow with no wind and not stormy. It's like.... so peaceful. I'm still trying to figure out if I need different tires but I think I'm going to see if I'll make it through this winter on cruiser tires. It's funny cuz we need tires for the car and the mantra with them is that snow on snow gives you better traction in the snow. So tires are designed to let the snow pack in there. Seems counterintuitive. Obviously with water they're designed to let water run off the tire as best as possible so you don't hydroplane.

There is something strangely comforting about the snow crunching under ones tires while the world is hunkered down inside their homes with the scent of burning fireplaces in the air. It’s just days until I mount my Schwalbe 30mm studded winter tires onto my cross bike.

Yeah. That I get. Plus I just like being outside. My feet are starting to be irritated with me though. LOL.
