Bar Mitts for E-Bike Wind Chill
 

I bought a Class 3 e-bike and am in need of heavy duty bar mitts to deal with a 28-mph wind chill and Boston's frigid winters.
I have mountain bike style handlebars and there is a throttle control right next to the bar grips.

What brands/models might work?

the thing is, while actively cycling, my hands do warm up, my toes don't but my hands do. on an electric bike where you may not be working hard, your hands might need more thermal protection

my 1 layer neoprene units are a great shelter from wind & other elements that would normally fall onto a gloved hand. like a little shelter

they don't add heat. you have to warm your hands on your own & use good gloves. but as my hands warm, if you have warm gloves, then your hands can get too warm. so it's a balance for me judging the temperature & the glove. the thicker the glove the more difficult to put your hands back in while moving. I usually don't use big thick gloves with my barmitts, but I have. sometimes I even go out 2 pair of gloves because I'm not sure which would be best throughout the ride

above all else, you must keep your hands dry
barmitts are great in the rain too. on this ride the rain ran down my arms & into the bottom of the barmitts. I had to occasionally stop & tilt them down to drain them. I suppose one could cut a weep hole at the bottom?

if you make a pit-stop it's a safe place to stow your gloves temporarily

the size I have is fine. I'm not rushing out to get them any bigger
