i heard that this is the first december we've had without any snow. i heard that second hand, so i'm not sure how true it is.

i think we're solidly in an era now where huge temperature swings will be the norm. we'll have huge snow storms, followed by weeks of warm weather, and then a big cold snap, etc.

Foul weather is my main man
No snow to be seen today in WNY
Still above average for the year, I believe
..mostly due to a storm in OCTOBER. HAHA
Just creepy bringing in 2007 in WNY with shorts on looking for a tree to find shade under.

It's stopped here for the most part, so I'm lulled into thinking Spring is near

We are feeling the same way in Maine, wondering where the snow is ... my fiance bought a trainer for both of us for Christmas and I have no idea when it is going to be used inside when and if it snows.

You can be thankful for that. Keep in mind that Winter just started a couple days ago. There is plenty of potential left.

It does suck not having snow, I've resorted to calling my sister and yelling at her for hording all the snow (she lives in Colorado) and she's about to get anouther big storm, figures.

I had my new Nokians mounted on my MTB, ready to go, but put the regular knobs back on for a ride Sunday. I was hoping for some Cold icy weather! Soon enough, I guess.

Snow might be nice for bike riding but I would think that most of us still own cars...and that's where the problem is. Ice, black ice, slipping and sliding, etc both in and out of the car.
Okay, so I'm a party pooper.

I was in such a rush to get my icebike and studded tires this year and they are just sitting quietly in the basement. I just got pair of Triflex tights for Chirstmas and I have a feeling that they won't see too much work this winter either.

Evidently it's not -A- storm. It's two storms, a day apart. We've gotten 6"+ at my house so far (On top of the 12"+ that was still on the ground), supposed to get another 6" by tomorrow morning, then another storm coming in Friday night or Saturday morning, with 10-20 inches forecast from that storm.

Stop hoarding the snow, you ... snow hoarder. It's people like you that ruin a white winter for the rest of us.

I don't think we'll be getting any snow then. It's only a 30% chance of rain/snow and the forecasted low is suppose to be 35. Besides, that's the tail end of the 10-day forecast.

My wife & I planned a cycling vacation to Tucson AZ for the 2nd week of February, because we expected to spend the whole winter in NYC off the bikes, & figured we'd need to do something to jumpstart cycling season before March 1 (when our club SIG Series starts).

Sure enough, with the lack of snow and very few sub-freezing days here, we've both managed to average over 100 miles/week through November & December, so by the time we hit Tucson we'll probably be in *better* shape than we been at have any time in the previous year!

Any ya know what? I'm perfectly happy with it that way. I have absolutely no desire to cycle in snow (been there, done that, mostly got yelled at by drivers & pedestrians alike), and I'd rather not have to drive, walk, shovel, or even play in it either. I would have been perfectly happy knowing I could cycle year round & then planning a vacation to Killington or Lake Tahoe for my token Frolic In The White Stuff weekend.
