Cycling tights

Looking for a new pair of tights for winter but want to avoid the traditional all black design. The reason for this is safety. Black is just not visible. Ideally I would be looking for a conservative coloured tight with white side panels and white panels on the back of the lower leg. I feel this would provide a good compromise between safety and not looking like a court jester.
Any links or information on possible suppliers would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the illumiNITE tights from Performance? The fabric "lights up" when a car headlight shines on them.
The picture on their website doesn't show this.
The picture in their catalog shows a night time photo.

Ron Hill Bikesters have a (non-reflective) white stripe down the leg, and reflective material at the bottom.

MEC has tights in some different colours for their MEC Venturi Tights. Keep in mind the prices are Canadian dollars.

You only wear them under if you wear them with a cloak with a big S on the back ;)

Some tights include a pad and can be worn on their own with shorts, others are designed to be worn over shorts.

I bought an Illuminite jacket.. Like the idea and it is very reflective, but I find mine does not breathe. I find it is raining on the inside.. Anyone else found this to be the case..
Around here about the only time you need tights, is if you go out at night... Usually leg warmers is all we need, during the day time at least.. My tights are black. I just wear a reflective vest over the jacket. That works well..

You might think about reflective ankle bands. They're tremendously effective. Auto headlights are brightest down closer to the ground, and the bands' movement is eye catching from a very great distance. I use these bands to make even plain old black tights serviceable at night.

Of course, I also use two LED blinkies in back, with a vest. But I don't need specially reflective tights, at least.

I've used the Ron Hill Reflective Tracksters to commute to/from work on maine roads & lanes. Find that they work well.
