It's not over yet...
 

This morning when I left for work the mercury hovered in the low 40's, cloudy, and all to similar to my winter excursions. Last week it was in the 80's...this week is in the 50's. It is a good thing I hadn't put the away winter gear. C'mon sushine!!!

Well, folks, winter is just beginning in this part of the world. However, I am offering NO complaints at all about that!!!

Yesterday afternoon I was heading out to the bike for the ride home. The temps were in the low 50's, the sky was mostly cloudy..."No problem, it's only 5 miles", I said to myself as I put on my rain coat and stuffed the rain pants back in the bag.

I needed to make a quick stop by the post office to check the box. As I stopped by, the winds were picking up and the clouds were darkening, but once again, I said, "no problem." I was only 2 miles from home.

As I hit the main road, just 3 blocks from the Post Office, the rain began to fall. "I'll be home in 5 minutes...I can handle this", I said as I picked up my speed. I was now only one mile from home and the rains were falling hard. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, the rains turned to hail. I was now being pelted through the helmet by pea sized ice.

Once home, I was well drenched and beaten by the frozen rain. My first thought as I walked in the door was, "I need to get those rain pants on and go back out there", but of course, my girlfriend wouldn't let me.

As of right now, no rain today...but I am ready, rain pants and all.

Do you think there would be a market for a stylish hail deflector for helmets? Is there money in sight here?
