winter pants

Hi, I have a pair of Sporthill xc pants that I use for speed skating. They're great and I could use them for biking when the temps are in the 30's. But for the times like today in the 40's (& 50's) I would like to know of pants that would block the wind -- even if only the knees -- but a fabric that's not nylon because it doesn't breathe and my legs would get too hot. I don't like wearing tights so I'm looking for something like loose fitting tights or pants. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

REI Mistral. Do a search in this forum, they've been discussed at length.
