Headbands

Yeah, it's a little late, but... Do not buy Gore Windstopper headbands if you want to be able to hear when you ride. I've been wearing either a hood or a turtle fur headband, depending on how cold. I recently pruchased a Gore brand headband, thinking that it would look cleaner and be more functional - wrong! WIND NOISE when wearing these is like riding next to a freight train all day. I couldn't hear my buds, couldn't hear approaching vehicles, couldn't hear my buds yelling at me that I was going to die if I didn't move over, etc. Worst day on a bike I had all winter. And, paying full retail price, they were only $25.:(

Also, I bought a Halo head band at the same time. I've used it in spinning class a couple of times, and it doesn't work very well either. The "gutter" may sorta work, but the beadband material is so thick that it absorbs water just like helmet pads and runs down your nose when you till your head down. The lighter, wicking material headbands from Performance seem to work a lot better.

I have a Pearl Izumi Therma Fleece Headband I wore when I wasn't wearing my balaclava & had the same problem with the "woooooooooosh" noise throughout my rides. Next season I'm going to give these a try and see how they do. They also make a set compatible with ear buds.
