Here's a shot of my 1993 Klein Adept 700c cross bike with Continental Contact Winter 37 x 700 tires. These have been pretty successful for me on roads and some trail use. They're studless tires for your bike. The only thing they don't seem to deal with real well is 15F snow that's been treated with magnesium chloride. Other than that I've been real happy, have used them since last February whenever it snows. Have a second wheelset, takes 2 minutes to change over.

Yes, great tires. I have a set on my off road ride. Going on six years of winter riding and have not lost one stud!

Not much to see here, but it should hit 12,000 miles this week, about to begin its fourth winter. This was taken at the end of my hardest ride ever, two years ago, at the end of my commute. The driveway had already been cleared once. Some of the trails, not so much.

Just a cheapo bike from the co-op. One tire is worth more than the bike itself. I've been riding in winter weather the past 2 months and I notice some really small tracks which seems like 23~26's. I took my 25's out and ate road grime just dropping my elbows into a turn. Not sure how they do it.

No photos, but I just put together an early '70s or late '60s Raleigh Carlton International as a winter bike to handle 37c Continental ice tires. They fit on easily with full fenders and a 1/2" clearance between! Haven't ridden them yet, just my rain standard 29c Paselas. The bike is fun! Now I know why the old racing bikes in those black and white photos had shallow headtube angles and the big fork rake. On rough roads that setup rules! And 531 DB tubing is nice riding stuff!

I have the bike set up with in line levers and centerpulls (Mafac Racer front, Weimann rear), a triple 53-42-28 X 13-14 7 speed FW, SunTour AR ans ARX derailleurs, Phil Wood hubs and my favorite Terry Fly seat. Fun, fun ride. I feel I can go anywhere on the bike.

Really the first snow ride of the year for me. I just throw some studs on the MB and presto! Instant winter bike.

Eastern Iowa, riding in the snow today. Temps around 0 F, windy. Good times!
Bike is a department store Schwinn (6061 aluminumbefore those bikes became completely worthless, circa early 2000's. Components are mostly stock (Shimano Atlus, Suntour XCT, etc.. .) although I swapped the springer fork for a steely rigid. Added a rear rack, fenders and mudflats, panniers, and Velociraptor 2.1 tires, and she rides nicely through the slop.
Anyway, enjoy....or not...whatever!

Yes. Temps in the 20s to 30s.
It's not much gear, but add in my tent and I could ride a long while with that kit.
