The suspension fork on the Blizzard does not work well when it is cold but when it is balmy and slushy it is a blast to ride and the 2.3 Kenda Nevegals roll over and go through pretty much everything in their way.

It will be so nice when I can get into the river valley and ride all my favourite trails but things are still pretty frozen.

No winter pics, but this is the rig I'm taking to Riverton, WY when I move there this fall for college. I picked up a set of fenders, a new helmet, rear light, and some other stuff today as well.

Obviously those tires are going to have to go! Haha

This looks like an excellent winter bike - does the leather saddle feel any different in cold temperatures?

That's a good question. I don't think I've been able to tell a noticeable difference, but then again, anytime it would be cold enough to tell I would usually be bundled up thick enough to not feel a difference.

It was a super deep snowy winter in MN and I was really impressed with how well the tires held up. I had originally planned on buying either studded tires or treating myself to a fat bike, but I didn't end up needing either.

Got some parts this week! I already have a 100mm front wheel and set of 4.8" knobby tires from last winter. The following items for this build will be borrowed from my Necromancer Pugsley: handlebars, stem, shifters, brake levers, stem, crankset, BB, pedals, derailleurs, disc brakes, brake rotor, chain, cassette. The Moonlander frame will get its own headset and Jagwire fully housed cables to make the change over relatively quick. Since I'll be riding the Pugsley during the fall, I'll wait until it snows to move the parts over.

You really need to change those boots so we can go and play before the snow flies...

I'm dealing with a broken leg right now.
The cast comes off 11-11-13, just in time for snow!

I really dislike the change over between seasons. We had some snow on Monday which kept everything wet most of the week. Cold, damp and windy isn't my favorite combination. I put a rear fender on my moonie, I should install the downtube deflector as I'll probably need it.

I haven't had this old beast on snow yet... but I have ridden it around a bit, mostly on rainy days. I just couldn't stand the idea of waiting out another "off-season". And I don't like the idea of taking my road bike out on Midwestern salty winter roads. So... I picked up this old mountain bike for near nothing at a yard sale. Then replaced both tires and one tube.... and scrubbed the thing clean (easier typed than done).
