My winter ride

Thought a picture of my ride after riding in yesterday's snow squall would be fun, also informative, cause I don't think deraillures would survive this sort of riding.

Yes they do. With full fenders and mudflaps, it limits the amount of stuff that flies around. Applying a lot of grease on moving parts also helps a lot.

sure is cold here

I'm in MSPL this weekend, visiting my valentine. I've got a bike out here, but it isn't really ready for snow service, so I guess I'll be couped up indoors (with valentine). Have fun out there.

Mnt, If you want to get together for a cocoa, between 12-3 maybe you could meet me and a few other foumites. I work in south Mpls Sa, Su at 3:30 PM. I think it'd be fun. What do you think?

Naisme, thanks for the photo. Here's a photo from last week's ride up Waterton Canyon just south of Denver.

That's the best part of winter cycling.

Every snow bank is a bicycle rack.

oops, just got back online. Due to V-day, gonna have to pass on the get together, although sounds fun.

On the plus side, I just picked up my new commuter bike, a 1986 Schwinn World Sport in good condition. It will be converted into a single speed, and used for beating around...

Mtn Mike, I'm jealous. I haven't been able to get out on my World Sport this winter. I found an old Trek carbon fork that fits it. I run 48t engagement, with 16t track cog, they go, and love being fixed. If your Valentine let's you, run by Freewheel for a V-day gift idea.

Thanks for the suggestion naisme, I'll try pay them a visit! I'm thinking about going fixed with it, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a fixie wheel for the 27 inch wheels.
