If you haven't spent much time cycling in winter conditions, I'd recommend going with the Susitna before trying the Iditabike (https://www.alaskaultrasport.com/) The Iditabike is either 350 or 1100 miles long. The Susitna is only 100 miles.

100 miles sounds a lot better to start with. I haven't rode in the snow or ice, so I'm sure I would suck. I've ridden in lots of rain, but that’s two extremely different environments.
