Simple Solution to Remedy Frozen Locks: Lock De-icer
After breaking the key in two kryptonite locks I always keep lock de-icer with me during the winter. Once in a while I drop some wet lube inside the lock mechanism to prevent freezing. While this may seem like common knowledge, this is something I wish I knew, above any clothing or gear advice, when I started winter biking for the first time. Definitely a costly mistake.

even cheaper and more common: lighter. just warm up the key / lock area, and the ice will thaw.
and dont put lube into your locks -- use lock graphite. it will keep your locks from freezing in the first place and wont gunk up the locking mechanism like lube will.
I recommend Lock-Ease -- $3 at the hardware store. Spray into your lock every other month, and one should not have any troubles.
