Great Responses everyone!! That was fun. Seriously one of the things i enjoy most about Winter cycling is that it is much more of a challenge. Just about anyone can get on a bike and ride in warm weather. It is like taking a nice long warm shower.

Winter riding is more like taking a very LONG COLD SHOWER. There are so many elements to overcome other than just wind, gravity and your own endurance. I also like the solitude it provides. There is often no human contact on most rides,no joggers, no walkers, no cycliststs, fewer dogs. This is a nice change from other seasons.

.91 What would you have done 100 years ago in the winter, If you didn't have a horse you would have walked or rode a BIKE. Just one more reason.

.88 So I can gloat about it repeatedly on bikeforums.net (especially if I manage to embellish the story a little).

0.86 That one moment that your ride feels just like a Robert Frost poem.

0.85 You make your turn and look up, wham it hits you, how beautiful the view is, the city decked in white with lights, a full moon hanging on the horizon, the snow sparkling. And knowing you are the only one seeing it at that moment. The universe is good. The moment passes and you still have 3 miles to get home.

0.84 Sometimes the moment lasts the rest of the 3 miles home, and stays with you for the rest of the night.

A lot quicker service at the Local Bike Shop. The place is virtually deserted around here in the Winter.

.80 The feeling that you get when you arrive at work and have a coworker help you thaw your shoes out. So you can get out them off. Then that burning feeling starts. OUCH!

.79 (25- below zero) When the State police pull you over and ask you do need a ride. I say hell no I do this all the time.
It gives you that warm feeling inside. I guess they just don't get it.
