Protecting Bikes - Winter Road Trip

Wasn't sure where to post this. I'll be driving 3000 miles East to West in the Northern US in January. I have a platform bike rack for 2 bikes. I'm looking for a way to protect the bikes for the trip. Any suggestions? Thanks

Obviously you what something like a tarp, that won't flap in the wind. Don't really know of anything specifically made for that purpose. But as I was reading your post I thought of something that might work. What about one of those covers that fit over a gas grill. It's shaped to fit over a bike. And some have an elastic band at the bottom. You could fit some grommets at the bottom of it to tie it down. It might not cover the entire bike, but it would cover the important stuff. Good Luck.
