I don't know that discs really require more maintenance. I've been running hydraulic discs for around 2400 miles and haven't had to do a thing to them. I should figure out how close they are to needing new pads, though.

I mentioned drum brakes in my first post. Pro: Reliable braking, completely independent of weather (even discs are affected a little). Con: Weaker braking overall.
