First cold ride of the season
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy riding in cold weather. This morning it dipped into the 30s for the first time this season and I had a great ride. The only problem is that I discovered the socks I bought aren't warm enough after all. Back to the drawing board on that one.

I won't call you crazy if you don't
It's nice to get out on a crisp morning but I like to make sure I am warm enough. |
ooof! 30 degrees in October! Wow, I feel a bit better about our 40's here. Not a lot, mind you, but a bit! :D

I like it too. It's pleasant and brisk. These pre-winter days are a good chance to calibrate your clothing selection before the real deep freeze hits. My daughter and I went for little a ride at sunrise today and it was -2C (~28F). I was pretty proud because she's just 10 and there are lots of adults who'd balk at that. We were well dressed for it, though.

42 here with 20mph north wind, 35 windchill. I really enjoyed the ride. Socks were my problem too... I thought I grabbed my wool wigwams, but I actually had some ordinary black athletic crew socks. My feet were only slightly chilly though.
Thermal cap saved my ears for sure. My face and neck were great. |
23 degrees up in Steamboat this morning- love it!
