Lake MXZ-302 winter boots

I was told a few months ago by a distributor of these boots that Lake was not going to make any more of them. I don't remember all the details, but he said that Lake had been bought, and that they may be selling their inventory of these, but that he'd get very few, if any, and if he did get some he'd get them only early in the season. He never did get any, so I was researching alternatives but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet.

With that background, you can imagine how thrilled I was to find that Nashbar has these on sale now, and I'm posting this just to let you know. I can't confirm the information I got about the future availability of these, but if it's true, then I'm really glad I saw them. This morning started with all sizes available, now 2 sizes are sold out.

They also have (as I write this) size 41 in the CXZ-302 boots, which unfortunately would fit me only if I cut my toes off.

I've had the Lake MXZ-300's for over 10 years now. I love them and swear by them. I recall hearing every few years that Lake is discontinuing these shoes, only to find out that they're simply changing the model/number. I hope this is the case because I plan to buy an updated pair when mine wear out. Definitely one of my best cycling purchases in recent years.

They're a little pricey, but I really
like my 2 year old MXZ302.

I like them in the snow:

I like them in the rain:
