too cold for a selfy !

Sorry crew. Wife and I went for a great ride today on the dog mushing trails using or Pugsleys and I had a great face full of ice ready for an entertaining selfy but when I tried to open my iPhone it just shut down. I'm not sure what the temp was. It was -22F at our house but where we were riding it was probably 10 deg warmer. Best packed trails we've been on this year and they were new trails to us on the other side of town so that was great. Even better, I was dressed perfectly and was not too cold or too hot. Just like a nice bowl of porridge in a fairy tale.

One can put the camera under your top layers for a minute or two. Then take the photo quickly.

yeah...but we had to stop a couple of times to adjust the air in our tires. My wife HATES complaining and by the time we got back to the car her glasses were entirely frosted over and she was wiped. I was shocked when she said, "I want to cross over the road and check the trail on the other side going the other direction." You could have knocked me over with a feather. Then, as she grabbed her bike which slipped out of her frozen hands she said some version of #@$ it! I wasn't bold enough to say, gimme a few minutes while I warm up the camera for a selfy :). I figure she did pretty darned well (as did I) just to be out and about. We're both over 60 and I'll admit the cold is harder on me now than 20years ago which is why we don't go out when it gets -really- cold.
