That has to be rough on junior. Hopefully it wasn't because of Doge's questionable antics.

Y'all keep talking trash about him, there's a good chance he won't show his face around here again. Lighten up.

I don't think they are talking trash, just kind of poking the bear so to speak. Doge seems like a good dude and usually can take the jokes so I wouldn't see why this would drive him off the deep end.
I was also disappointed when I saw Daniel at the bottom of the results sheet. Kind of funny to feel that way as I've raced with the kid once but never really met or talked with him or Doge. Hope he still makes it to worlds somehow.

Riekert was never on Cal Giant. Might have seen him in a Specialized kit because he works full time as a PR guy for Specialized. Daw has a tough 40h/week job as well.
Moral of the story...pre-ride the whole course. Everyone just wanted to ride the climbs, but we (I'm on TMB) rode the whole valley as well. Threw it in the gutter in the crosswinds and pretty much shattered the field. I'll very much tell you we didn't ride for one guy, we had 4 or 5 possible winner. Nate English even finished in 6th after stopping for a full minute (literally off his bike) with 10mi to go to stretch out some cramps.

that fine is completely bananas. power tripping gone awry. Detrimental to the image of the sport, I bet they'll end up saying it's detrimental b/c the fine made the news

I'd like to fine USAC $20 "for discrediting the sport": they are a discredit to the sport: the corruption, the abuse of their monopoly in strong-arming of LA's, the prevention of pro-riders racing local races..the list goes on and on.
By the way, bikeforums counts as "social media". So I've done it too. Bring on the $20 fine to me, you bastards.

they used the same rule to fine axel Merckx for doing "rolling mechanical work" or something like that, ie the fake brake adjustment thing pros do all the time.
and fined someone for receiving a sticky bottle.
which is awesome!

better would be the usage of social media and call for the impeachment of the official. after all, that $20 fine would presumably go to the pocket of USAC...

Hack - i was checking out your race profile. Because you shared that article USAC has down graded you to Cat 4. rules are the rules - no one shall speak ill of USAC. Dont worry. You'll be back up in the 3's in no time.

Agreed. Do your research before complaining. That said I can't stand the fine system. If it's not enough for a suspension then why bother. This is not pro sports. Further evidence of the disconnect between USAC and their customer base.
