I find myself listening to this right now, which is strange because I haven't thought of them for years...

Years ago I was riding with some guys and their coach on a training ride and I was pulling a lot, fool that I am, and the coach said "you're pretty strong, but if you want to lead, these guys are more than willing to let you".

The Girl is sitting next to me reading The Vagina Monologues for a women's studies class. There are parts that are just downright disgusting to be honest. Some of it isn't that bad, but some is just, eww. She feels the same way.

Sycamore... I haven't been there this year, but when we went there in the past there'd be at least one table of bike racers, if not 3-4. Maybe I'll make the trip just to see hysterically laughing bike racers.

The high school in the town that I work puts this play on every year. Every single year. It must make things easy for the drama department. Of course, this is the same town that holds a pot smoke-in on the common, and bans the display of American flags downtown because they are a "symbol of tyranny, fear, destruction and terrorism".

But we get those nice forms from S.S. telling us how much we'll get, so it must be true.

Look, the reality is S. Florida is insane. The people are whackos. Everyone down there is looking for the one big score, and the amount of stupidity that comes out of that place is completely mind-blowing, entertaining, and shocking all at once. There's a reason there is a "Florida" tag on fark.
The odd thing is when you're from that place, you don't think twice about it. One guy I knew from the BBS scene back in the 80s started what was at one point the largest online paper mill on the internet (schoolsucks.com), and another kid I went to high school with started forging his political future at the tender age of 14, and is currently a US Senator that may run for president in 2012 (more likely 2016) with endorsements from guys like Rush Limbaugh. That's just par for the course.
BTW -- you do realize that almost every single Carl Hiaasen book has some basis in fact, right? Granted, he does embellish some of the details, but not by a whole heck of a lot..

and even a few St Louis folks as well. Hammy you bring up bands that I would have never remembered (even though I had their names markered all over my clothes for years.
re: punk fashion. Looking back, I think I got into the scene because as high school approached it was the only option I had due to socio-economic reasons. Yes there was a lot of rules involved in being accepted but they were achievable with a trip to the Goodwill and a few bucks. Even inside of those rules there seemed to be a greater level of acceptance than with the other cliques. The issue of reconciling what a true punk was compared to what we were pretending to be is something I still think about from time to time but there is no denying that everything was good back in those early pits

I don't delve in the 41, so I don't know if this was posted there. If you shop at chainreactioncycles in the UK, check your credit cards..

The first race weekend of the year for collegiate was cancelled. Since I'm from Northern IL originally I'm heading back there tonight to race the Spring Super Crit. I saw that Psimet's name was on the registration list.
Anyone else going? I'll be the one in the unfamiliar kit from Iowa.
