Just mention it to Chris Lotts(CBR). Maybe you won't be the only one that has complained to him.

All that will accomplish is you will be labeled a whiner and ranted about on the CBR newsletter.

I fortunately haven't had to race with them, but I remember some of them from the simi ride. Yep, scary fo sho. I believe BF member "hairnet" joined that team but I've never seen him ride.

I haven't found their facebook page yet but apparently it said something to the effect of "soon they will fear us". I really have to wonder how much of their Poo is just wrecklessness.

IMO it's a testiment to the other cat4's that these idiots haven't taken anyone else out.

Givens:
  • I won't be upgrading anytime soon.
  • Yelling at them hasn't made a noticible difference.
  • Some of them are wearing freaking tennis shoes!
  • They're physically pretty fit for the 4's.
  • I have much better form this year and don't want to sit out the finishes just because of not being able to trust the pack with them in it.
  • The 4's this year are fairly smooth otherwise.
  • They don't seem to be taking the gentle hints.
  • They don't seem to have anyone to mentor them.
  • They don't have the benefit of having crashed yet.

Considerations:
Will a USAC official do anything about it?
Will CBR do anything about it?
Do they need a gentle intoduction to the curb? (if it was higher categories I guess that would be a given)
(ughhh) Actually talk to them? (ick) (problem here is I fear it resorting to threats.)

Thanks

they are too funny...i saw them warming up next to me the first race of the year...there was this jack A in a suit with sneakers on with his arm in a cast that i thought looked like a total fool, walking around like he was the team leader/director. i went to register and they had decided to use my trainer to warm up and take the spot i had picked to warm up, so i kindly informed them "ummm...you're on my ****, can i have it back and my space to warm up". I think they are mostly a Cat 4/5 team right? I don't think i have seen any of them in the 3's yet? I haven't seen them race, i'll have to ask my new guys in the 5's about them.

or in other words Team starts with W and rhymes with Banker. sounds like you need to talk to the other teams and riders and squeeze them out. Make it clear that they are not welcome.

wtf! what kind of bullsh¡t is that? i would never 'borrow' a trainer from someone it didn't know without asking and probably not even from a friend w/o their permission first.

So how many drinks or tokes had he had before hand? Did you do the charitable thing and push him over?

Hello vladav,

If you and a few others approach Chris in a calm manner he will probably warn those guys that he's watching them. I haven't seen him throw too many paying customers out of races but he has done it on occasion.

Is that why you joined DeWalt?

I'm not sure how I feel about our team's new nickname "Pools & Tools"...

Can't speak for the OP, but that's got to be them.

The good news: There's only like 3 of them in the 4's and none of them will ever upgrade.

The bad news: They've got almost a dozen 5's that will be 4's soon enough.

i rode with these guys a little over a year. they started out riding night rides like wolfpack hustle. they do lack mentorship and respond very poorly to constructive criticism. the whole "us VS them" mentality is very strong. half of it is the fact that they stick out as a cohesive unit, and have seen various riders from team get called out for things other riders did.

they aren't going to stop racing anytime soon, of course unless their bikes are disabled. the only way to deal with it is to just push the pace at every race. We did our best to control the pace in the 4/5 race at ontario this past weekend averaging 26.47mph and we managed to render their sprinter useless. The closer their sprinter is out front the more they try to execute 'tactics'
