Mine too. I'm 30 over that now, raced at 25 over in 2010, and used to be 45-80 over in the 2001-2009 time range.

Okay technically I raced better in 2010 than 1995 since I didn't earn enough upgrade points ever in the 90s. But I was a lot faster then than I am now.

I don't know how the pros do it. I'm still learning things (even if it's stuff I already knew and then forgot). I can't imagine having only 7 to 10 chances in your life to get a whole season right, and trying to work on getting in Grand Tour or two in good shape and all that jazz. 2010 was the first year in many that I wasn't deathly ill at some point during the season. A little fuzzy in March but that was it.

You're going to kersplat this season unless you get your training in order. Rooting for you. Don't make massi say he told you so when you downgrade. Prove 'im wrong!

I want to drop at least one pound by next check-in on the spreadsheet. Being a rest week it should be a challenge. Going to have to employ some portion control techniques

Thanks for the support. I'll see how it goes. Trolley should be rude. Bethel will be fine - I could race pretty effectively after doing 30 laps in the prior race. After that... I'd like to see how, say, Somerville or Harlem are.

I am down 9 lbs so far this year. Weight/Height is 2.4, so I still feel fat. I want to drop another 15-20 lbs.

Hm another metric. That's about what I am now, 2.43 at 163 lbs. I was 2.35 during the season (158 lbs). I was dreaming of 148 - that would put me at 2.2. When I was light I was a touch under 2.0 (133 lbs).

I've noticed that after a weekend of long rides, my weight will always be up a couple pounds that following Monday. In those cases, I'm 100% positive I didn't eat 7K+ calories in excess of my BMR and what I burned on the bike, so my theory is that it's glycogen replenishment. By about Wednesday I notice my weight returns to a normal (realistic?) level.

The 2.0 didn't work in your favor though, did it? I.e. did you race better then or did you race better last year?

You can get back to 158 easy. That's 5 lbs. No sweat dude. Heck, shoot for 155.

Seriously, I saw you when you were heavier and you looked so much more like a bike racer then.
I don't think you'd be able to do your job if you were 133 lol.

I know from my power meter and caloric consumption that I am in a calorie deficit. It may be glycogen replenishment, water retention or both. What I have to do is resist the temptation to over eat the next couple of days Monday is the worst since it is a rest day.

I hate to say it but at 133 I was frickin flying. I could sprint at all weights, even 103 when I went to college. But realistically I won't ever see 133 again except right before I die, like as I rocket down to 70 or 90 lbs.

158 is okay. I raced well, got a few good placings. Other than Bethel I got a 2nd, 3rd, 6th. Bethel gave me win, 2nd, 3rds, 4th?. I forget.

I'm sure I'll be down there by the time Bethel starts.

145 I could kind of pick and choose from where I'd win at Bethel, like if I felt like challenging myself I'd jump 100m early. Or 100m late. I was hoping for that kind of weight again. I guess I didn't want it that bad else I'd have attained it. That's what it boils down to. If I wanted it I'd do it. I didn't so it means I really didn't want it.

Last year I really wanted to lose weight. Frick, I lost 3-4" on my waist, went down a size in jersey and shorts (L -> M and M -> S). None of my old kits fit now except the ones from when I was 150s or lighter. I'm still a bit fat though, and not in an anorexic way. I really am carrying a bit of fat, sitting over 10%, maybe 13-15%. The scale says 24% but I think that's a bit pessimistic.

I have to find a picture of me at 190 or 200 lbs in Vegas. I look like a world class Judo specialist. I look like I can't get knocked over. Short and squat, like a little mountain.

Skin fold test just told me I'm at 4.5% BF. I'm pretty sure that's not accurate.

My attempt to lose weight is officially dead. Hooray. Saw a nutritionist yesterday and she pretty much confirmed everything I'd been thinking. I've been under-eating so much that I'm slowing down my metabolism, and my diet is already so spare and clean that there is nowhere left to cut.

She also said that given how light and lean I already am losing 5 pounds just might not be realistic for my body. I might drop a few pounds once I stop having such a gigantic calorie deficit every day, but that's not going to be my focus going forward. From now on I am supposed to:

-Eat when I'm hungry
-Eat more in the morning
-Eat more on long rides
-Eat more in general
-Cook with more oil
-Have snacks before bed

Well she did say that my protein intake is good--which is all thanks to you!

She also wanted to know how I had time to do so much training, sleeping, and cooking. My response: "I'm very efficient."

Great to see that you won't concern yourself with weight as much.
I had to do a little soul searching as well regarding weight.

As good as her dinners look. I couldn't imaging eating them for anything more than a snack.

Glad to see you getting back on track. Good thing you found out now, you can dig yourself into a serious hole. Also, as you start eating more, you'll notice those weights flying up much more easily. Forreal!
