Making a kilometer blurry
Zapps are $.25 here at the office, so it's a pretty easy fix. Yesterday the machine on my floor ran out, so I bought Frito's instead. You know what was awesome? Tore open the bag (flat) and dumped a pile of habanero sauce on it to dip the chips.
My Fred rant for the day. Gary, go ahead and give me the points now.
I'm doing some tempo/FTP work yesterday on the commute home and I get a rear flat. I ride to an area where the shoulder is wide and there's a clearing so I can get some sunshine. I'm in the middle of changing the tube and I notice some guy kitted up rides by on the other side. I don't know about you but if I'm riding alone and I see a solo rider on the side of the road with his bike apart, I at least ask if he's OK. I was fine. That's not the point.

The only time I didn't help someone was Slickrock Canyon. I got 1/4 mile out and saw a family stopped with a flat. They had brought out their Huffys and Murrays to ride Slickrock. No water or patch kits or pumps in the group. I told them that I didn't want to fix it for them because I didn't want them going further out and getting stuck (well, I guess they'd just become someone else's burden). 1/4 mile walk isn't the end of the world, and they were not prepared for that loop.

One day on a club ride we were hammering along at a good pace and we see this guy on the side of the road in a Rat Shack kit with a brand new bike, new shoes, everything squeaky clean, with a flat. He had nothing, not even his ID and a cellphone. Six of us had him changed out in 5 minutes. What shop sells a guy a new bike and not a flat kit?

been there, done that. good luck
one that doesn't want returning business, at least, that's the vibe from the shop that sold my bike
when i bought my first bike, i didn't have a flat kit for eight months until i realized i was effed while riding 10 miles away from town. Thank God someone stopped and i repaid the guy for his troubles.
It's just three simple words. "Are you OK?".

Like the monkey I am, I just shout "here, have some poo" while I fling it at them.
I wish the week was over.

Dude you cannot even imagine my house. I am over 220 grams of protein a day and my wife eats somewhere around 150.
You cannot even fathom what our house is like some days. There is just something wrong with a sweet ole butt ripping them out though
"Cup of cheese" - beautiful

I did a quick recon of "the other place" and saw rkwaki casting pearls before swine. Or was it swine casting pearls before Freds?

Just empty on my ride today. Felt like both brakes were dragging. Turned around after 30 minutes and went home.
