Did the Tuesday night ride that I don't normally get to do, but when I do, I suffer like a dog. Last night, I suffered only a little and finished really well. Pretty damn happy about it.

While I understand injuries are very varied and personal, what have been some timelines for recovery from pulled gluteal muscles for you guys? I've tried to do too much while recovering from a slight pull, and I have in turn worsened it. Any tips would also be appreciated.

Best guess because initial pain (just a feeling of excessive sorreness) was after a leg day at the gym (squats and leg presses), aggravated it by not resting it properly, track day last Wednesday and standing starts on Monday night.

2+ hours today without my back seizing up. Woot!
But damn, it was hot and humid. And I am WAY out of shape. All told it was pretty painful.

Sac River Ride. Pretty rough tonight. Tried to say hello to @caloso , but when we'd cross paths I was gassed and seeing triple. Also, need to learn where the final sprint is as I jumped waaaay to early and gassed out about 300m from the finish. I thought it was about 400m out of the last turn, but it is apparently more like 1k...ooops.

Brutal crosswind day, just the way I like it!
You are looking strong. It's a long ass way from the turn. The big oak tree is 250m. But I would rather go too early than sit and wait. It can get sketchy, especially on crosswind days, so might as well go early, go as far as you can.

Thanks. I hid much more tonight to save some legs for Dunnigan. Pulled way too much last week and paid for it the following Saturday.
Crosswinds were rough and hard to hide from. Google earth has final sprint about 1200m from the final turn, so I went way too early, but kept a decent pace until blowing up.
edit: Must say I was impressed to see how well you were able to stay out of the wind. Every time I'd find myself on the wrong side of the group I'd look across and you were on the right side.

Haven't been riding the trainer this week but I have been commuting. Commute today was 20' at 87% and felt quite easy. Included a few short efforts - not quite sprinting yet, but 700 - 850 watts or so. Really want to start group rides and racing again! See the doc tomorrow. Maybe I'll be permitted to race again before the season is over

today I went back and caught the white whale. recovery aside from 1:40 of hurt. Tomorrow's race is NBD to me and a little confidence/higher spirit is worth more than the absolutely limit of freshness for an 80mi flat RR in my mind.

You've probably done it before so know what to expect, but I was caught off guard by it.
Also fwiw last year in the 1/2's the early break stayed away for about 70 mi, but came back in the last 10 mi with minimal organization by other teams, guess they just got tired or beat up by the wind.
Good luck!
