Wow, that is hardcore! You are truly a hard man carved out of wood.

Today I rode around for a few hours. Maybe it was a little cold.

Man the winter here is so brutal!!

I'm celebrating our brutal winter by sitting inside drinking scotch. I think I'm doing it right.

left the office this afternoon and went for a ride with a friend, and I felt the strongest I have felt since resuming cycling three weeks ago. No great power numbers, but overall just a better feeling.

Tomorrow I will rest, then Saturday/sunday I'll hit it hard. My back still hurts after a long or hard ride though :/

That's weird. I would think 3 weeks of riding would have you back right where you were before breaking all your bones and nearly dying.

*squint* 44/55, or the carriage road between trapps and mohonk?

A dog tried to chase me today and was run over...and immediately after it happened the little girl that it belonged to got off her bus and broke down in hysterics. The mom, the driver, and I had no idea what to do. Be good to your pets guys, give em an extra scratch behind the ear tonight.

I got approved for the Zwift Beta software... so I did a quick 30 minutes with it... pretty cool. I could see how it would motivate one to try to keep up with others online.

You're in the right area code. Do you visit the area much?

"Carriage road between trapps and mohonk" is bit of a non sequitur as the trapps are within the mohonk preserve. You probably mean trapps road, which is the carriage road between the steel bridge at the west trapps, and lake minnewaska.

In any case, the photo was on north lookout carriage road on the grounds of the mohonk mountain house, which is a few miles north of there. This was the view looking the other direction. West trapps in the foreground, lake minnewaska out of frame to the right.

Yea I ride through the area on most of my longer rides. I live in Beacon just across the river from Newburgh, but I prefer the riding up in the New Paltz area since the traffic is more polite and it's generally prettier. I went to school there too, so I know the area inside out.

Pretty picture

Track session last night at Velo Sports Center at Rogers Sessions that include a warmup, two interval sets and a 40 lap motor burnout. My wife and I started attending these sessions a few times per year about 5 years ago. Roger (the coach / supervisor) sets a timer and there is a beep when we are to change speed. Last night was 1 minute of z2, 40 seconds of z3 and 20 seconds of z4 repeated 12 times. There is an 8 minute rest period and then another set followed by 8 minutes of rest and then the motor burnout - nothing but treble.

Here is a pic of me waiting for the session to start with Roger on the track coaching a madison practice session. I ride the DF3 and my wife the Cervelo.

Sounds like fun. I get my bike fits there and that velodrome looks scary steep.

1:03 .93 IF (Some easier, some harder) on virtual course last night. Felt good to push a little. Found out today I have an ear infection. Probably for the last 3-4 days. Explains my head achiness and tiredness the last few days.

my tan is sick, everyone knows that.

so sick it was unclear that I was wearing full-length black warmers!

Got on the bike, climbed off after 40 minutes. Dieting a bit aggressively, felt weak right away. I figure 10 weeks of dieting and then I'll start back up for real.

The Missus is really encouraging me to train as she understands it's more fun racing if I am actually in the race.
