Got another thread of mine closed today (Ethics). I need to check but I think that is 4 threads (Ethics, Cornering, Excuses, Worlds) that have been closed after some of my comments and two more I was told were off subjects. I don't quite understand the sensitivity, but again...I'm still kinda new here.
Is that some kind of record?

You just earned enough points to upgrade to the 41.

Casement windows on my porch are covered in peeling lead paint. F yeah. Not a surprise, but this is all such fun and I definitely don't know what to do about this kind of thing yet. On the other hand, I replaced some washing machine hoses and installed a dryer cord and duct yesterday, so go me.
Having a basement is still awesome, though. Can't wait till we're done with the painting and can actually move in. 2 weeks.

I haven't been on a bike in years. Nor have I been to a bike race in years. Tomorrow, I am taking my girlfriend to the 42nd Dillworth Race in Charlotte.
She seems pretty interested in learning about what my fascination was in the sport and would like to see me get back into it.

I had a great time at the Dillworth crit. My girlfriend and I watched a couple events and I explained some of the simpler things about bike racing and getting into the break, working teammates, primes, etc. She really seemed interested. Several friends were there that I haven't seen in years. We caught up and joked about past races we were in together.
It really had me all choked up and stuff.

some of you may have already seen the "Road to Roubaix" series, written by a former Zipp engineer (who now owns Silca) who was heavily involved in the development and use of the first carbon wheels at P-R. if you haven't seen it (and are at all geeky about wheels, tires, tire pressure or pro cycling), it's worth a read.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
i loved the read, but it also made me laugh. a few years back i was given a ton of $h!t for checking pressure loss in tires over time (i found it varied based on the tire & tube material, along with the specific tire itself). in my case, i had a 9-hour event and i noticed that my tires could lose up to 2psi/hour, so accounting for that loss was relevant when i wanted to nail pressure.
totally geeky, of course, but i'm not the only one who realized pressure matters (sometimes a whole lot!). stakes were lower for me vs paris-roubaix, but i actually ride my bike and only watch P-R on tv.
guys like @echappist, @MDcatV, @shovelhd, @carpediemracing and others might remember that.
anyway, it's always interesting to know what goes on behind the scenes.

Yeah, seriously, like all chips, they're much better in dip. Only weirdos lick them.

I think it may be time to think about riding again!
Maybe you can start dicking around on the bike and begin training for next year over the winter.

Things are spectacular. My life is really good right now.
Probably wind up getting married again. Hell, I swore that off several years ago, but met this spectacular woman and we hit it off.
Kids are doing great too - still living with me. One in college. One in high school.
Ex-wife and I have become good friends and work great together for the kids.

I want to do that. Just ride when I can. Had to sell my bikes early on though. So I need to get something cheap possibly to start with.

I need smart people 33 advice please, the 41 would advise I put a foot of spacers under the stem. Can I remove this gigantic volcano spacer?? Is that the proper way to go about slamming it?
edit - its really stuck so I'm not sure if it's not supposed to be moved, or if its just really rusted. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That is not a spacer, it's called the headset top cap. You would have to get a shorter top cap for your particular headset. My advice is to leave it. I would also disassemble the fork and headset, clean up all of that sweat corrosion, inspect, and replace compromised components. I'd also do the same for your bars. This could be an accident waiting to happen.
