Need help for post-op knee surgery rider

Hi! I'm looking for some advice. I use to be an avid bike rider (didn't ride anything special) but due to a knee surgery and some post-op complications (missing tendons on the outside of my knee and muscle atrophy) and a recent diagnosis of osteo-arthritis I can no longer ride an upright bike. I did great on the stationary recumbent bike at PT but I love being outside and there are some great places to ride by my house. Can anyone recommend a good recumbent bike for me to use or at least share some advice????

Thanks so much!

First, I cannot see where OA should stop you from riding. Everything I have read or heard concerning the condition mentions that activity of the joint is best for keeping it lose and movable.
I have a great deal of knee damage related to an accident and am an amputee on that side as well. I learned to modify my pedal stroke to utilize my glutes in place of my quads.

As to the recumbent, there is a specific forum here for that and they may be able to help you more on that choice or recommendation.

I've had two TKR's(bilateral)and I have no trouble riding. *I also have OA. *On top of that I weigh about 300+. *I ride a reconditioned GT Outpost. *I do mostly rail trails. *Good luck. *Remember, *your only limitations are in your mind.
