Let"s get straight her , the accident reconstruction unit is going to investigate the whole thing . Do you not see there is something wrong in this picture . A branch of police department is going to investigates one of its own . Do you not see conflict of interest here .

Your right, I'm sure there will be no problem getting multiple officers, supervisors, commanders and ultimately city attorneys to lie on an accident report to protect an officer from a possible traffic citation. You have uncovered the great conspiracy that exists within the dark secret world of police work. Sorry, but in the real world no group of cops are going to risk their careers, pay checks and pensions to commit perjury on a traffic crash report. But go ahead and keep thinking you could do a better job than the officers who were actually at the scene of the crash and saw the evidence and took witness statements. Once again, my original statement stands. Where does it say the officer involved was found to be not at fault?

Gee, funny thing, when I drive and something like sun gets in my eyes, I slow down to a crawl... rather than assume no one is there.
While walking I have been nearly hit several times by drivers with dew on windows or sun in eyes that had simply gone through the intersection blindly, using the front bumper as a "cane." Generally poor practice IMHO.
Cop should have known better.
Bottom line, if you cannot see, you don't get to go forward.

How do you know he didn't slow down when the glare hit him?
2) In your own words you "slow down to a crawl" when the sun gets into your eyes. You don't stop.
Why when specifically referring to the police officer at the end of your post do you add that you shouldn't go forward if you can't see, when in your own words you go forward. At a crawl but still forward.
Which is it?

Nothing I saw in the article relieved the officer of fault in the crash, only that it was under investigation from the accident reconstruction unit. Would you be as upset if it had been a plumber in his work van who hit the cyclist? Just because it was a cop, a thirty year veteran to boot, he must be wrong and there must be a cover up. Perhaps, being a human being behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, he made a mistake. But then this is the internet and I'm sure everyone is an expert in all things related to law enforcement policies pertaining to accident investigations. Be sure to add all of the things you once saw a cop do that hurt you feelings during your lifetime. Those darn cops, out there keeping the community you live in safe, responding to life threatening situations while their family's sit home hoping they survive their shift. They miss Christmas mornings, Thanksgiving dinners, birthdays, graduations, but hey that's not your problem.
If the police decided to take a day off all at once, the animals of the world would wait about two seconds before the made you a victim. I don't normally rant, but this cop hater BS makes me sick. Just because a police officer was involved this becomes a big story. If what i said offends you.......I really couldn't care less.

I truly feel sorry for all the ignorant and uninformed people in this country who have zero appreciation for police officers in general.
That kind of blind hatred must suck to have to live with

Many more whites than blacks are victimized by police, just going by shootings of unarmed suspects, but this does not suit the agenda of those who control the media. Although blacks are shot by police in a higher proportion than their percentage of the population, their rates of violent crimes are far higher, but again this fact does not suit those who control the media.

+1. It is amazing how people toss around terms without understanding what they mean.
