how take off crankset on Cannondale Supersix evo (FSA Gossamer Pro BB30)

Tell me if this is correct--I take off the self-extract hex bolt on the left crank. This should allow the left crank to come right off. Then I take a rubber mallet and hit the shaft til the drive-side crank + BB insert come off the other side. Is that correct?

The self extracting bolt doesn't come off. It stays inside the left crank arm. Which will come off the spindle. a 10mm hex key is needed. While you turn the bolt it will have some resistance. Keep turning it and it will come off.

You may not need to use a rubber mallet. i can remove my bb30 crank by tapping it wth my hand. Remember to unhook the chain from the chainring before doing so. Other you could damage the chain.

Also the BB insert does not come out either. It stays in the frame.

So I can't get the crankset to pull off. It's like there is a hard stop preventing it from coming through. The left crank arm is obviously off. Is there some kind of gasket that is blocking it? What to do next?

Wipe, then grease the spindle lightly. It won't hurt to push it back through a bit. Sometime you have to whack the spindle pretty hard for it to go all the way through, but it will eventually. Try to hit it square. Use a soft mallet and/or a piece of wood to protect the spindle. Careful the crank doesn't fall out and hit the floor. You can retain it with a thin piece of rope. Would have been easier if you'd left the chainrings on, I don't understand why you removed them. Keep track of spacers/dust barriers.

Thanks for the advice. I got a can of compressed air and expelled the propellant inside the shaft to cool it. And then it came out. I took off the chainrings because I am going to replace them. I had the idea that maybe I could replace them without taking the crank off, but I was wrong.

Excellent idea that I was going to try the next time I have to pull the spindle on my Evo. I have found it takes way too much force to get the spindle out (and press it back in) than I am comfortable with. I thought it had something to do with the crankset on mine, which is the Cannondale SISL2, but that doesn't seem to be true based on yours. It's weird because the spindle comes out with very little tapping on my CAAD9 with BB30.
