What are your goals for this conversion?

I guess I'm not too into the fine engineering points yet. I have found the highly curved steel forks to be a little bit bouncy.

Anyway, if it was me, I probably wouldn't spend $200 to $300 to find a perfect fork to experiment with. But, if I had a $40 or $50 used fork, I'd just put it on the bike and see how it felt. Sell it if you don't like it.

oh WOAH, hold everything, i had the angles reversed!

somehow i was thinking that the smaller number indicated a more upright head tube, when actually its the opposite.... upright is 90 degrees, whereas a chopper might be 45 degrees.

so he was A LITTLE BIT right - the sanchez headtube angle is slightly more "relaxed". i feel like kinda an idiot. still, if he had actually known the geometry of my frame in particular, he would have known that it's only 0.5 degrees difference if that (drawing comparison from a few road bikes i looked at) which seems pretty negligible.

yeah i mean the whole thing about the sanchez is that it's relaxed track geometry, right? he should still know that about a product that they sell

just to have a carbon fork instead of steel, and yes, the look HSC4 is what i got for 50$

i'm 99% sure he was saying the opposite - that my frame was more "chopper" like, and carbon steerers don't have enough "lateral" strength or something. i did check out a few Cervelo and Look road bikes, they're VERY similar, one of them is 73.5 degrees vs my 73.
This is bull. 73 degree hta and 43mm rake is the normalest possible road steering geometry, as well as identical to the stock fork. Your bike is not chopper like at all--it has pretty ordinary road geometry. Also I'm assuming you ride it on the road--and thus a road fork should be appropriate in strength.

If the fork tip axis to crown race seat Blade length is not identical , you change the Head tube angle ..

That's true. Forks for caliper brakes don't vary a huge amount in ATC unless they are designed for different brake reaches or wheel sizes because the brake hole needs to be in a narrow range. The hole can be a little farther or closer to the crown, but not commonly very much. I'd still be surprised if the Look fork changed the steering of the bike noticeably.
