Yeah, trying to reassemble one with loose balls is nearly impossible. Fortunately, caged bearings for OPCs are easy to get.

My 1/2" drill bit comes in two days. Meanwhile I've been adding redundancy to the design. Aside from the "spacer" I'm confident I'll get it done. If I do the spacer I'll probably have to make a square groove from end to end for the nut using a file.
