problem with new wheelset (freehub spin)
I just recieved a brand new set of Easton Circuits that I ordered online. I think there might be a problem with the freehub, unfortunately. When I take my fingers and spin the hub body it gives resistance and does not spin as easy as other wheelsets (even holding the body and spinning the wheel..it spins for less time than the other wheelset in use) I've had new wheels before and they came out of the box spinning much more free...even went to a few bike shops and just spun some wheels to make even more comparisons. (didn't bother asking anyone about this) They all spun free...even the 'cheaper' sets.
I'm wondering what the problem could be. Would rather not take apart the body and have to grease or send back. I did notice the wheels were kind of dusty. Anyone with easton circuits have the same issue? Appreciate any help.

Could be that the lock nuts are too tight. I had this on a new hub I purchased once, and it wasn't even dusty. I loosened them just the tiniest bit, and all has been well since then.

If it is the freehub that is stiff then the only time that would effect it is when you are coasting. I would think that it just needs to be rode and broken in. My Mavic's are the same way but when I ride I don't feel it at all.

Once you ride them they're yours. I'd send them back.

I put on the cassette and it barely turns. There is something wrong with the hub for sure. Sent them an email but wonder what can be done without spending more money to get this resolved.
Definitely not going to ride them...I doubt the issue will work itself out and I lose the opportunity for return.

Wow, check out my post below
I too just got the same wheel set. I have mine mounted and when I back pedal the chain is slackening on the top side...
think its the same thing from the same batch? Mine JUST came from Easton.
