brake adaptation?
i'm building a "cross bike" on a budget with a trek frame from the 90's with flat bars and mostly mountain components. I'm wondering if anything effective exists out there to mount canti or v-brakes on a center mount road frame/fork so I can get a bigger tire thru. I've seen the u-brake/bmx adapters and thought about that route. I'll state the obvious and tell you all that I'm new to building and am a full-on, midwest-raised shadetree mechanic and have lots of time and energy for seemingly "not-worth-it" projects, especially if they don't cost me much. I've taken the verbal beating already from a genius project killer at my local community free bike shop who deemed my project a waste of his time from my first three syllables. Sorry if you feel that way. Thanks and ciao amigos.
