Anyone know of an alternative to KS260 rear suspension shock?
Hi, i have a dumbed down K2 FS Mountain bike that came from a sporting goods store not a bike shop. The frame seems quite good, 6061 aluminum, very nicely welded but the components and wheels were poor quality, i upgraded the rear derailleur and i can find better wheels but the rear suspension is pretty bad. Its a single high pivot which may be ok except for the Kindshock 260 rear spring/shock combo...the spring is 1100 in/lbs, way too stiff. Is anyone familiar with this shock and if so can you suggest a replacement?
Thanks lots.

You could take an eye-to-eye measurement of the shock (if it is a standard type and not proprietary) and replace it with an air shock, but that's a costly item and generally will not compensate for a poor suspension design.
Personally I'd flip the bike and buy something with a better design, preferably a Virtual Pivot Point.

Thanks Word....I have other bikes, just thought this one might make a good project... trying to improve it a little. I'll ask around the LBS's too.
