Running cable questions
I have a question regarding cable running. I have the new 105 shifters with concealed cable routing and am using them with a frame that has down tube cable stops. Anyone have pics of their setups? I am trying to determine if routing the shift cables across each other and crossing them over underneath the downtube would provide the best shifting performance. Thanks!

I use crossover only with my Cannondale because stops are on headtube and not doing crossover makes the bend in housing too sharp. With my bikes with downtube stops, thats not an issue so crossover isn't necessary. I doubt you'd notice a difference in shifting performance one way or the other.

I agree with DOS that I also don't think the shifting is affected either way.
Crossing the cables was often done on frames with downtube cable stops to keep the housing from rubbing on the headtube during sharp turns. I found trimming the housing length to the minimum needed to let the bars just turn all the way to the stops was enough to keep it off the headtube almost all the time so I never bothered with the crossed routing.
I have two Litespeed frames with headtube mounted cable stops and running the housing to the near (uncrossed) side doesn't make the bends too sharp and shifting is fine. YMMV

In addition...depending on the positioning of the cable stops and the size/shape of your downtube...you may not be able to cross the cables without the cables rubbing against the underside of the downtube.

I have last years Ultegra which has the hidden cables and did not cross them. They work great and my road morph straps on the down tube between the two cables

Where do you have the adjusters on the Litespeed? My cannondale (I dont have OPs concealed housing) requires I use inline adjusters (HT stops are just stops). The problem I had trying to go straight (noncrossover) is the housing is in two pieces so either the short section (two inches or so) coming from the shifter to the adjuster would kink a bit or, to avoid kink, I had to make the long piece going from adjuster to stop so long that it was funny looking and had to bend pretty signifantly back toward the shifter in order to get to the stop(and was long enough at that point just to go to the stop on the other side). LBS that assembled the bike originally had done it crisscross so when I failed to get it to work the uncrisscrossed way, i just did it they way they did it.

One frame has the stops/adjusters welded right on the headtube at the level of the the downtube and the adjuster barrels stick out forward enough to be even with the front of the headtube.
The second frame has them welded to the downtube but only about 3/4" down from the headtube junction.
Both bikes have Campy Ergo brifters so the shift cables run under the bar tape like the newest Shimano routing.

Does this look about right? I tried to keep the bends to a minimum (excluding the bends to tape down housing).
