Is there a way to fit a 1" fork to a 1-1/8" headset?
I was thinking of using some sort of tube that has a 1/16" wall, with a 1" ID and a 1-1/8"OD, and just JB welding it to the 1" fork. Is there a tube made for this? Anyone think I'm heading down a path to death?

I think you wouldn't even need to JB Weld it. Just cut your extra tube so it's exactly the length of your bike's head tube and make sure everything's securely bolted and screwed and put in place.
And pray.
And pray.

I met a guy a few weeks ago that was trying to do the same thing. his idea was to bore out the the larger headset cups a little bit and then fit a 1" headset into the old one. he was a regular customer but i haven't seen him since.........
