Downtube clamp-on shifter interchangeability?

Hi.

I'm building up an old Raleigh without downtube bosses. I wonder where i can find, or which old downtube clamp/band to buy that would work together with the new Dia Compe Friction shifters i just bought.

Basically i'm looking for a band/clamp with the same bosses that are normally brazed onto the frame..

I've looked on some old Simplex and Shimano shifters but i don't know if they would work with the new shifters i've bought..

Any tips/thougts/advices?

I had Sun Tour band-on downtube shifters on an old Bridgestone but I was told those levers mount on a different fitting than standard braze-on bosses.

Here is a complete set of the Dura Ace band-on shifters but they are VERY pricy:

Here is an e-bay listing for just a Campy clamp. It's not particularly cheap either.

Scroll down on the e-bay page for more options.

Psee, I just noticed you are in Sweeden, so you may not want to order a ten dollar partfrom California. The ebay poster mentioned that the original part came from france which is a little closer to home. You may try tracking down the manufacturer.

steel frame down tubes are generally 9/8" just a band clamp will do.
some builders just tacked a stop on the underside to keep them from slipping..

Thanks. But it's not really the clamp size i'm worried about, but if the levers will fit and work on the bands mount/bosses.

Anyways. I just bought an old Shimano 105 downtube shifter whos band hopefully will work.
