How narrow of a tire can I fit

I have a 2010 Trek 7200 and I would like to put new tires on it as the Bontrager H@'s it came with are shot. The bike has Bontrager 750, 32-hole wheels and I was curious if anybody knows how narrow of a tire I could get on it.

Here's a guide to optimum tire widths based on rim width. There's some wiggle room, but IMO not much on the narrow side.

But since you live in Brooklyn, you might want to go super narrow anyway. While many people thing narrower tires are faster, that isn't always the case. Considering the quality of paving in NYC you might want to keep your rims a bit higher off the ground with a wider tire.

Read this, and see if you might be better off with a slightly wider tire, with the pressure adjusted according to your weight for the best balance of low rolling resistance and traction and handling. Having ridden in the NY area for 45 years, I've come to the conclusion that 105psi is my pressure cap, and use tires that are correct for my weight at that pressure.

According to bikepedia.com, you have 700x35c tires.
I have a 2008 Specialized Globe that came with the same size. (real slugs!)
I put on 26c tires and the look/ride just fine. However, I doubt if I'd go any smaller than 25c.
My rims are something like 21/22 MM inside.

This is what I put on- (I'm cheap)

However, you may want something a little more "heavy duty".

I've got Bontrager 700 x 28 H2 Eco tires on my daily rider with is a light touring/hybrid. My road bike has Specialized 700 x 23 tires and they ride much harder and are more affected by minor changes in road surface. The road bike is about 5 pounds lighter, so it's hard to judge, but I think the reduction in rolling resistance attributable to the tires is minimal.

700X28 was about as narrow as I wanted to put, I don't want to turn my hbrid into a road bike just wanted something a little faster as the bike is pretty slow.

Sounds about right on a bike and rims designed for 35c you probably don't want to go smaller than 28 even though most 25 should work OK.
