We did not have ramps and other stuff back in the day and nobody was complaining or crying because their shifting was working wrong or was slow.

As much stuff we put in the bike, the community gets more and more full of whingers!!!...

Yes, and "back in the day" we drove cars with 3-speed manual transmissions with unsynchronized first gears, no power steering, drum brakes, no air conditioning, had to do a complete tune up every 10,000 miles and engine overhauls at 50,000 miles. Should we go back to that too?

New and improved isn't always improved but current bicycle drivetrains are vastly better than "back in the day". If we are spoiled by them, good.

Have you ever been an event mechanic?? Any one will complain if they flob a shift... I do agree with today's riders being less acceptent of the techniques needed to shift smoothly. (i think that's what you really meant). Andy.

Well I ordered myself a set of the Salsa Chainrings. We will see how it goes when I get them.
