Front Der. spring tension; Shimano 7400 higher than Campy 10?

I have a Shimano 7400 front derailleur mated to a set of 2005ish Campy Chorus 10sp brifters. When I'm on my SL/SP Paramount, in the big ring and out of the saddle, it often shifts down on me. I've noticed that the spring on my particular FrDer is quite stiff, stiffer than I remember any previous FrDer.
Is it the FrDer/brifter combo or am I daft and just swinging the BB like the hips on a Hula Dancer?

It's probably a compination of both. Those early 7400 FD's have stiff springs....

Additional points- The Ergo ft levers like to have the "g" spring fully in the index wheel notch when in the big ring. Another words if the cable tension is too high the lever's internals might not be fully ingaged and will more easily slip a click under frame flex (which tugs the cable a touch). Also the "g" spring could be worn.

I had this problem with my commuter and finially (after living with the slipping issue for many miles) replaced both the spring and the index wheel. problem is gone now. Andy.
