Additional points- The Ergo ft levers like to have the "g" spring fully in the index wheel notch when in the big ring. Another words if the cable tension is too high the lever's internals might not be fully ingaged and will more easily slip a click under frame flex (which tugs the cable a touch). Also the "g" spring could be worn.
I had this problem with my commuter and finially (after living with the slipping issue for many miles) replaced both the spring and the index wheel. problem is gone now. Andy.
