rear derailer??
I have searched and cannot find the answer. Hoping someone can help. I ordered a bike from BD and the rear end is trying to change gears but only in 4th, 5th, 6th. 4th and 6th just clicks a little while 5th the chain is actually raising off the cassette. Shifts beautifully to all gears, everything seems to be lined up. Someone please help me, I'm loosing my mind thinking about this. Thank you in advance

Could be any one of a dozen causes from a minor cable adjustment to a major frame alignment problem. Take it to a bike shop and pay to have it daignosed correctly.

I am a bit biased but this a all the more reason to buy a bike from a quality shop instead of BD, they would be happy to show you all of this for no extra cost.
Start by going through the adjustment procedures here and if it still is not right chances are your derailleur hanger is a little bent (actually very common even on brand new bikes) and you will either need to buy a tool or have your LBS straighten it for you.

I am with Hillrider with this. If your new to cycling and newer still to bike repair I strongly urge you just take it to shop, assuming one is close buy, and have a professional tune up done. They can properly adjust the derailleur and will check the brakes, bearings and true the wheels.

I would search and view on how to adjust rear derailluers on youtube. There are some good ones and if you take you time and this does not work then something else is going on. Nothing at all wrong with Bikes Direct they sell quality bikes but you need some mechanic skills to get them correct. I disagree they are junk my Motorbecane Immortal spririt rides like a dream and shifts perfect but I do my own mechanical work. I have road Madone's and Specialized and they did not ride one bit better and cost much more money. In fact they Madone did not ride as well, what model did you buy and what drive-train do you have that will help?
