Bent rim or spoke?

Hi, im new to biking. and as embarrassing as it is, 1 morning I hopped on to go to work. not sure how I did it but my foot went down into my front spokes. I went over the handle bars and the bike hit the ground. no real damage done to it. well I was going over it and now my front tire wobbles.i ride a fixed gear critical cycles bike. its got the deep double walled rims. so I was thinking the chances of the rim its self being bent being kind of slim. but id hate to pay to have it all trued and worked on just for them to tell me im gonna have to order a new 1. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If the rim is bent then it can be bent back before truing, but of course will not be ideal or as good as it was before. Other than that it's not going to be worked on if it needs to be replaced - it's one or the other. If the spokes where the rim goes to one side are loose in the direction of the bend and very tight away from the bend then the rim is indeed bent and you will have to decide to have the truing attempted or to replace it.

Whether it's a bent rim or a simple alignment issue depends on the degree of the untrueness, and how local it is. A long gradual wobble is usually easily aligned, but a local wobble where there's a rapid change in rim deflection usually means the rim itself is bent, and if not too bad can be pulled straight via spokes, but will involve compensating unevenness in tension.
