Suspension to Stiff Fork Replacement - Schwinn Clear Creek

Hello there guys... I'm new to bikes and this forum and I have an issue that I'm hoping to get some help with.

For a few years I've owned a Schwinn Clear Creek bike with a suspension fork. The issue is that I want to replace the front for with a stiff version, but I don't know what I need to look for in a replacement.

There's really no reason for me to replace it, I just want to learn from doing it... I know it doesn't make sense to many ppl that I want to replace it. Anyways... the bike is similar to this bike:

Schwinn clear creek atb 18 speed

My bike comes equipped with a SR Sontour that appears to match model number M2025 wand has the following specs :

26" inch wheel compatable
Steerer tube 1 1/8" threadless
Steerer Length - 255mm
Travel 50mm
Coil spring suspension
V-brake compatible

The problem is that I'm not sure what I'm looking for in a replacement. I'm assuming that I need to make sure the tube diameter matches the old one (Steerer Tube), that it's threadless and that the length matches, but I'm not 100% sure that's all I need.

I hope you guys can help maybe even make a couple suggestions.

You'll also need to approximate the axle - to -crown distance.

Steerer will need to be cut to length.
