Maybe. But the caps still wouldn't match the tire. The ONLY solution would be to replace both tires and caps with black. Or order a blue cap for $.50, then pay $15.00 for overnight delivery.

Only colored valve caps from the same manufacturer as the tires, and from the same production batch for color saturation control, would be acceptable. A trip to the manufacturer's production facility to select perfectly matching valve caps would be well worth the effort.

I used to have a problem with COD. The delivery man would come to drop something off and I didn't have enough money to pay for it.

Why that's easy. Just do half and half.

If you regularly rebuild old freewheels even though buying a new one would be likely less expensive and perhaps run smoother. Maybe not OCD but maybe just too much time on my hands?...

I'm looked down upon for not having streamers on the handle bars, the appropriate Disney decals and worst of all, no white wicker basket with flowers. I might just make the basket and install it on the rear rack.

Actually you shouldn't have caps on your valve stems at all.
Rule #60: Ditch the washer-nut and valve-stem cap.

You are not, under any circumstances, to employ the use of the washer-nut and valve-stem cap that come with your inner-tubes or tubulars. They are only supplied to meet shipping regulations. They are useless when it comes to tubes and tires.

No, but it's something else if you take them seriously.

Well they seem like pretty OCD folks what with all their picky rules.

I actually stopped using the washer-nut and valve stem cap on my presta valve equiped bike because their argument made sense to me. And I'm shaving milligrams of rotational mass! Ok that's OCD...

FB,

I'm deeply concerned that the air that I inflated the Clement Criterium Setas on my ex-Molteni team bike is not Period Correct.

I have considered acquiring a 1968 Fiat 500 to extract the atmosphere from the OEM tires for use in my cherished Vintage orange bike for display purposes on a wall mount in my den. Would you recommend this, or is there a better source for Verified Period Air?

I can not believe I have committed such an egregious faux pas!

My life is a hallow empty shell now and I no longer derive any pleasure from my stock of different color electrical tape for bar wraps, cable crimp ends, and valve stem caps. All of that matchy-matchy color accessorizing is meaningless now!

Yes. the car that you choose must match your bike's country of origin. For French bikes that would be a Citroen 2CV, for American bikes a Corvair and for Japanese bikes any Toyota named after a cigar. A '68 Fiat would be perfect but only for an Italian bike.

I'm relieved, the provenance for this impeccable piece of cycling history is unquestioned.
It's the ex-1968 team bike built for the little heralded Molteni pro Luigi Salami, known as "Lo Scoiattolo" to those who bothered to notice him.
Salami's inability to sprint was only surpassed by his excremental time trialing ability, leaden climbing and frequent epic crashes.
He did however know an amazing number of "knock-knock jokes" and naughty limericks with which he regaled the peloton in several languages and dialects. This made him an invaluable teammate during the long boring parade in the peloton while his boss was busy destroying the competition off the front.

Lo Scoiattolo was Bob Roll's hero and inspiration as American jokers achieved world class status in the peloton.
