mountain bike click noise need you help!!
Hi everyone!! I have a 24 speed k2 zed 4.4 mountain bike. The mountain bike is making a clicking noise.
I know it not the BB because I bought a new one and still clicking. I know it not the seat or pedals. Here is what I know. I took off the rear wheel and the right side cone is in bad shape and the right side is good, could that make the clicking noise. The inner wall of the hub are fine. The freewheel body is wobble when I move it with my hand, is it normal wobble. The freewheel nut is tight. The body does does not wobble when i pedal. The cassette is tight with no play. If I take the cone to the bike shop can they match me up with a new cone. I need all your help please. Thanks!!!

How about taking the entire bike to the LBS...and save everyone here AND there the guess work as to all the issues you are having with your bike. I'm betting you have more than one issue...

What is the click's frequency? Is it once per crank rotation, once per wheel revolution, once every two or three crank rotations (chain), etc? Much more detailed info is needed. Also, the new bb may still be the cause if the threads weren't greased or tightened adequately.

I don't know if this helps. I had a tick tick that was driving me nuts. it happened at about the 1-2 oclock position in the pedal stroke coming from the drive side. Every revolution. Nothing loose in the drive train. last thing I checked was my shoes. I shook my right shoe and lo and behold it was rattling like it had rocks in the sole. Turns out it was the unused threaded pieces that hold the cleats rattling around. I injected silicone into the holes till there was enough in there to fix those pieces. No more tick.

Just because the BB is new doesn't mean anything. It could be any of several metal-to-metal joints that are slightly loose and moving relative to each other. I've had clicking noises that took me weeks to figure out... and I've been working on bikes since 1980.

I found out it was the right pedal making the noise. Question about axle cone. If I take the cone to the bike shop do you think they can match it**********??

Remember to use grease on the pedal threads. If you don't grease the threads, they can move around a bit, creating a squeak. It'll make you crazy.
