De Rosa Factory Paint Process

I want to have a new paint job on my old Columbus De Rosa and I want the shop to do it the way the factory did it originally. How did/does the factory paint them originally?

Thanks.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Paint technology evolves over time. The paints and processes of years ago in Italy may not exist anymore.

Instead of focusing on the process, focus on duplicating the end result as closely as possible.

If you want a factory like job, send it to the factory.

It's always helpful to indicate what part of the world you're in when asking questions like this, because someone on the board may know where to send you locally to get something like this done.
For example, if you're near Toronto, I know who I would recommend.

The only way.

And make sure the same employee applies paint and primer from the same batches as originally used. Oh wait, that's impossible [clue].

How bad is your paint? I like old bikes with original paint. The chips and scrapes just show the long life of the bike.

I got this abused mid-70s Raleigh International. Some automobile paint polish shined it up again. There's some big scrapes and some mangled decals, but it looks great.
